Gratitude: the quality of being thankful, readiness to show appreciation for that to return kindeness
There are times when the effects of circumstances get over whelming. Everything seems to be going wrong. Happiness just can’t be found. You ask yourself what’s the use.
This is when you know that you have lost your Gratitude. We tend to focus more on what’s wrong than what is right. It’s time for a focus change. Take a deep breathe. Sit quietly for five minutes. I know that’s asking a lot.
Just do it. Think of a time that made you smile. Think of a time that someone did something unexpected for you. A time when you were carefree and all in the world was right.
Yeah. That can be hard to do when everything seem negative. You can do it. Here are some hints. You have people that love you inspite of your faults. You have shelter. You have clothes. You can make choices to change where you are.
Gratitude is a gift. When you receive a gift you have to unwrap it to find out what’s inside. This gift always brings a smile. Sometimes you will have to give the gift. That also will change the way you see things.
Today be ready to offer the gift of Gratitude to someone else instead of receiving the gift. Remind them of all the good things in their life. Even in giving the gift you will still receive.
